Lots and lots and lots of corsets...
Well, three corsets anyway.  Apologies for not posting more and being a bit boring in general - I was away for a while and then I moved house and my life still appears to be buried at the bottom of a box that I haven't managed to unpack yet...

Anyway!  Enough about my transient life.  I've been busy sewing and I wanted to share three corsets that I've finished recently.

The first one was a custom pattern draft of our piping detail corset.  It is in a larger size and made up in dark blue and silver dragon brocade.  The body of the corset had...76 bones - plus the four lateral ones at the bust line for a total of 80.

I also decided to make a bow embellishment in black velvet edged with silver (I love making bows...)

The modesty panel is also detailed with siam red Swarovski crystals following the pattern of the brocade.

The next corset is another piping detail corset but this time in red and black cherry blossom brocade with red trim.  I absolutely love this colour combination.

As an aside, this order was made for the shop and the person that it was made for wrote in to complain about the satin gross grain ribbon that I used to lace it up.  I've not had complaints about it before and I quite like using it sometimes (mainly because I think it's really pretty) but I will perhaps give it a miss in the future.

The final corset is a bridal piece that is exclusive to the shop - I love working with this fabric.  It's so luscious.

I have some more photos but I haven't managed to pull them off my phone yet, so there will be more to come.  I am still writing a bit on the Iris Norris corset - will hopefully have a minute to finish this soon!

I hope everyone is well!  I am currently watching Conan the barbarian...oooh yes ;)

Thanks very much! And yeah - I always worry when I see a corset that you can lie flat...

Hey :) Thank you!

Yeah perhaps I'll not use it again - I've got my flat braid lace and this new heavy weave satin one for the bridal stuff I do - it's like normal corset lacing but made of satin - weird stuff but very sturdy and beautiful :)

3 perfect jewels ! I love them !
Also, I'm a bit curious and would like to know: what is the average number of bones you use for 1 corset ? The bridal corset seems to have many bones too, though obviously not as many as the 1st one.

Hey :) Thanks!

As for the boning, that depends on the size of the corset, really. Anywhere between 22-26 for very small sizes and 40+ for bigger ones.
